Sandstorm

Sandstorm

Sometimes color just pulls you in! And making color fit together and make sense without losing imagination is always a challenge. Finding colors I wanted to use, I decided to paint a turbulent sky with 2 towns in the mountains. The sky is filled with movement as if a storm has just pushed through. I chose amethyst and grape colors for the sandstorm with a matching foreground. The glowing towns are tucked into the dark mountains. Using intense jewel colors, the painting looks like a surreal Santa Fe. Definitely an exciting painting to do!
