This idea was taken from the other Zebra picture. Changing the arrangement of the herd and cooling down the colors in the evening sky, I wanted the Zebras to become part of the background. Some of their stripes were painted into the sky color and others became the yellow, orange and red of a flame. I wanted the observer to study the detail of the brush strokes as they wove a pattern of their own. The owner told me it was calming to her.
