This painting was created from 3-4 different pictures and the idea was to keep it crisp and clean and a bit abstract. Starting with a white sky and ending with the white foreground makes this an unusual approach. I used 3 pictures from Lakeside for the bank of blue and yellow trees. I knifed the sky in white and finished the foreground in the same style. Using colors that are definitely considered curious for trees made the piece really pop! The trick was to not overwork the painting. What was interesting is that using mainly white in the painting with a knife gives a lot of shadows and a lot of depth to the sky and foreground.
