While coming home from a business trip with my husband, we stopped at the Dairy Queen to grab a hamburger for lunch. When we got out of the car I noticed an old house that was located behind the DQ that was falling down. The house is located in Fairfield, Texas on the highway. It was obviously an old homestead from many years back with porches around each side of the house to pull the breeze through during the hot summer heat. Over the years the family could not keep the house up. The light on the house and the overgrown vines in the trees made it an interesting subject. I added in the pumpkin in the window for fun and instead of signing the painting, I put my husband’s and my initials carved into the tree in the front of the painting!
